The Chakhesang Public Organisation (CPO) has taken a significant step towards environmental conservation by unanimously adopting a resolution aimed at maintaining ecological balance. The decision, crucial in the collective effort to conserve and protect the environment, marks a commitment to building a more sustainable world.
Resolution No. 2, passed by the Executive Council of the Chakhesang Public Organisation, mandates an annual Tree Plantation drive to be organized on June 5, coinciding with World Environment Day. This initiative aims to involve the entire community in a noble endeavor to enhance green cover and combat environmental degradation.
Accordingly, the CPO has directed all Chakhesang villages to participate actively in this endeavor by organizing tree plantation drives within their respective jurisdictions on June 5. Each village is encouraged to conduct its own event and plant a minimum of 500 trees, prioritizing indigenous species that are well-suited to the local ecosystem.
Moreover, villages situated along highways have been assigned additional tasks, including maintenance activities such as weeding and protection for trees planted in previous years.
In a bid to ensure the success of this initiative, the CPO urges village leaders to mobilize resources and actively engage community members, including youth and student bodies, women associations, and local self-help groups.
The President of the Chakhesang Public Organisation, Vezuhu Keyho, emphasized the importance of collective action in making a meaningful impact on the environment and leaving a lasting legacy for future generations.
