The 79th General Conference of the Chakhesang Students Union will be held from February 3 to 5 at Zuketsa in Phek district under the theme “Nurturing Identity Through Knowledge and Culture.” The three day conference will bring together student leaders, public representatives, civil society members, and invited guests for deliberations, cultural presentations, and organisational sessions.

Former minister Neiba Kronu will attend the opening session on February 3 as the introductory guest at 4:00 PM. Greetings will be delivered by Gihuka Zhimo, President of the All Sumi Students Union. The programme will be led by CSU tribunal Rite Khutsoh, with the welcome note by Kupelhi Losou, convenor of the local organising committee. CSU General Secretary Kuzoto Swuro will present the general secretary’s report, followed by the introduction of CSU units by Vice President Povozo Soho. The Chakhesang Women Welfare Society will present a segment on traditional attire. The first day will conclude with the CSU union assembly at 6:00 PM.

Deputy Chief Minister T. R. Zeliang will be the inaugural guest on February 4, with Kudecho Khamo, Advisor for CAWD and Taxes, Government of Nagaland, attending as the guest of honour. L. Dikho, MLA of the 48 Mao Assembly Constituency, Manipur, will participate as the cultural guest. Zhothisa Dawhuo, Secretary of Women Resources Development, Government of Nagaland, will be the valedictory guest on February 5.

Dr. Neisatuo Mero, MLA of the 16th Pfutsero Assembly Constituency, will be the special guest at the 67th general session of the Zuketsa Students Union on February 5.

A panel discussion on “Indo-Naga Political Talks: The Vision and Its Prospects” will be held on February 4 with Lt Col Retd Neipfupe Venuh, Alezo Venuh, and Acüyi Vadeo as panellists. Dr. Neingulo Krome will moderate the session. Seminars on entrepreneurship and competitive examinations will feature Neichute Doulo and Vekhohu Puro as resource persons.

Leaders from various student bodies, including NSF, MSU, PSU, and KSU, will extend greetings and solidarity messages during the conference, while CPO President Vezuhu Keyho will exhort the gathering at the inaugural session.
