The Citizen’s Welfare Pharmacy was officially dedicated at Imkongliba Memorial District Hospital (IMDH) in Mokokchung, on Friday, November 1, 2024. The pharmacy, an initiative of the Department of Health & Family Welfare, aims to make medicines more accessible to patients, offering them at a 5% discount around the clock.


During the dedication ceremony, IMDH Medical Superintendent Dr Marina Yaden expressed that the opening of the pharmacy is a “dream come true” for the hospital. She acknowledged the collaborative efforts of IMDH staff, specifically highlighting the dedication of Dr Mar Walling, Orthopedic Senior Specialist at IMDH, and pharmacist Lulenmayang, whose contributions were instrumental in making the pharmacy operational.

Dr Marina stated that the new pharmacy is dedicated to serving the patients at IMDH, ensuring that essential medicines are both affordable and readily available. She noted that the income generated from the pharmacy will go to the development fund of IMDH.
The Pharmacy was inaugurated with a dedicatory prayer by Wapang Longchar, Chaplain IMDH.
