Wokha, 30 March (MTNews): Wokha District Bharat Scouts & Guides organized a “Trekking Cum Clean Mt. Tiyi Mission” on 30 March 2024 to keep the surroundings clean for a healthy environment.
People come to this place for a good time and do not bother about the litter they leave behind. Waste thrown there gets collected in gorges or top of the mountain affecting environmental degradation and creating an unhealthy environment, the District Organising Commissioner(S) BS&G Wokha, T Zuchanthung Lotha said in a press release.
He encouraged and motivated the Scouts & Guides to “never give up doing good deeds for a better world and set a good example to the younger generation.” He also appealed to all the visitors not to throw waste and litter the mountains. “Rather it is our duty to preserve and protect it for a healthy and clean environment as responsible citizens,” he said.
He claimed that they will keep on doing such cleanliness drives but added that what everyone needs to understand is that they should not pollute it and it is everyone’s responsibility to keep one’s surroundings, public places and towns clean and litter-free.
