Under the ongoing North Eastern Council (NEC), Government of India-funded project on “Climate Change Perception, Knowledge and Responses in Tribal Communities of Nagaland”, field visits were conducted in Noksosang, Yachem and Yaongyimchen villages of Longleng district from August 18 to 20.

During the visits, Research Assistant Sediba K. Sangtam interacted with local community members to understand their perceptions of climate change, observed environmental changes, traditional knowledge and coping responses.
The interactions provided valuable insights for the ongoing study being undertaken by the Department of Environmental Science, Nagaland University.
The project is supervised by Dr Ashutosh Tripathi, Assistant Professor, Department of Environmental Science, Nagaland University, as Principal Investigator (PI), with Prof Ashutosh Tripathi serving as Co-Principal Investigator (Co-PI).
