Chief Minister of Nagaland, Neiphiu Rio, today inaugurated the new state-of-the-art Putuonuo Hospital Complex at Daklane in Kohima. Addressing the event, Rio highlighted the hospital’s rich history, noting that it was the first private inpatient medical facility in the town. Now relocated to a state-of-the-art complex, the hospital continues to uphold a legacy of care, dedication, and community service.


“Putuonuo Hospital, a 34-year-old family-run hospital and the first inpatient medical facility in Kohima. This is not just a new building, but a legacy of care, dedication & community service,” Rio said.

Rio appreciated the founding family’s vision and hard work in creating a place where countless lives have been touched, healed, and improved. Observing that the hospital is equipped with the latest medical technology, Rio described the facility as a beacon of hope and progress. The Chief Minister stated that the inauguration of the hospital has opened doors to a future filled with promise and potential.

Earlier, the Managing Director of Putuonuo Hospital, Dr. Kezevituo Keditsu, reflected on the journey that began on July 6, 1990, with the establishment of a nursing home named after his late mother. He noted the hospital’s growth over the years, culminating in this significant milestone.
