Mokokchung, 9 February (MTNews): Chief Minister Rio addressed the recent controversy surrounding Advisor for School Education & SCERT, Dr. Kekhrielhoulie Yhome’s statement regarding the exclusion of Sumi and Ao tribes from primary teacher recruitment for the next decade. Rio clarified that while Yhome expressed his opinion based on findings of excess teachers in many tribes, recruitment decisions will adhere to established rules rather than individual statements.

In a similar vein, Advisor Yhome explained that his intention was to question the rationale behind hiring primary teachers from these two tribes when there is already in excess. He explained that primary teachers are typically assigned based on linguistic needs, and the issue of excess teachers extends beyond just the Sumi and Ao tribes. However, he assured that the recruitment process will be fair and open to all although for primary schools; teachers are recruited based on linguistic considerations.
