Kohima, 13 June (MTNews): Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio addressed the AHoDs (Additional Heads of Departments) and HoDs (Heads of Departments) meeting at the Secretariat Conference Hall in Kohima on 13 June. He urged the officials to adopt good governance practices and ensure efficient delivery of public services. The meeting was attended by all the Deputy Commissioners (DCs) through video conferencing.

Rio emphasized that government employees have the privilege to serve the people in various capacities, and it is their responsibility to work for the welfare and development of Nagaland and its citizens. He stressed the importance of cooperation and coordination among all departments of the state machinery and sought sincere commitment from government officials.

 

The Chief Minister emphasized the timely implementation of all Centrally Sponsored Schemes (CSS) and programs. He urged the DCs to take equal responsibility for the successful implementation of CSS in their respective districts. Furthermore, he directed the AHoDs and HoDs to regularly monitor the progress of schemes implemented through their departments and ensure timely completion.

 

Chief Secretary J Alam, IAS, assured that the political will would be translated into action. He called on the AHoDs and HoDs to implement government policies and programs with commitment.

 

During the meeting, the Chief Secretary reiterated the importance of government employees’ attendance at the Nagaland Civil Secretariat, Directorates, and all government establishments. Concerns were raised regarding the Biometric setup system, and the IT Department assured that they would address and resolve the issues.

 

Presentations were made by the Finance Department on the SNA (System of National Accounts) system for CSS schemes, and the Land Revenue Department provided information on the land under the control of government departments in Nagaland’s various districts.
