Kohima, January 14 (MTNews): The Chiechama Village Amphitheater with a capacity of 3000 seats was inaugurated by Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio at Chiechama Village, Kohima today.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister said it was a long held vision and much-needed amphitheater, especially being one of the biggest villages in the area which touched the National Highway. He added that it was constructed to promote the forefathers’ rich traditional practices and cultural values and to inherit their blessings.
Highlighting the importance of the construction, Rio said that amphitheaters were used for village meetings, feasts, and other social gatherings during the times of forefathers and urged the village to protect and maintain the newly constructed amphitheater.
He also informed the government employees to get registered with the Chief Minister Health Insurance Scheme to avail of health cards, Microfinance schemes for youths aspiring, entrepreneurs, and farmers to avail the benefits.
He thanked the Ministry of Tribal Affairs for sanctioning the project and village leaders for their cooperation and congratulated them for the successful completion of the building.
