CNSA elects new office bearers, adopts key resolutions at 5th General Conference

The Central Nagaland Students’ Association (CNSA) adopted several significant resolutions and elected a new team of office bearers for the 2025–2028 tenure during its 5th General Conference held on June 5 and 6, 2025, at IMC Hall, Dimapur.

In a statement issued by S Shilukate Longchar (Convenor), Ejanthung Ngullie (Member), and Himato K Yeptho, the CNSA declared that it “strongly reaffirms to support the ongoing absolute Demand of the Five Tribes Committee (CORRP) on the review of Reservation Policy in Nagaland.”

Reiterating its support for student-led educational initiatives, CNSA stated that it “will unanimously continue to support All Sumi Students Union (SKK) on its demand for upgradation of Kheloshe Polytechnic Atoizu to a full-fledged Engineering College.”

In the cultural sphere, the CNSA resolved to “endeavor to preserve and promote cultural tourism and the traditional heritage by envisaging a common CNSA festival for cultural assimilation and unity within the three tribes of Central Nagaland and beyond Naga indigenous tribes.”

Additionally, the association emphasized the importance of unity among its tribal student bodies. “The CNSA resolves that any leaders representing the three tribal students’ body to frontal organizations should continue to stand constantly united on any issues and challenges that comprehends CNSA,” the statement read.

CNSA office bearers for the term 2025–2028 are: President: Zuchobemo Jungi (LSU); Vice President: Mughaka K Zhimo (SKK); General Secretary: Imnayanger Jamir (AKM); Joint Secretary: Vikudu Awomi (SKK); Finance Secretary: Puloto G Awomi (SKK); Education Secretary: Reshiameren Longkumer (AKM); Cultural Secretary: Jamedi Jamir (AKM); Women Co-ordinators: Meytila (AKM)

Co-opted Members included Bito Yeptho (SKK); Toito Awomi (SKK); Moayanger Jamir (AKM) Imsutoshi Imchen (AKM).

At the time of filing this report, few names were yet to be recommended by their respective units.
