Addressing the gathering, Additional Deputy Commissioner Mokokchung, Atsungba Walling, said the campaign serves as a reminder that tackling substance abuse requires more than policies alone and calls for collective action from all sections of society.

“Combating the issue of substance abuse requires a combined effort involving supply reduction strategies, demand reduction initiatives, and, most importantly, outreach and awareness that begin right here with us,” Walling said.

He urged all stakeholders and citizens to actively participate in the campaign and contribute towards making the initiative a success.

As part of the programme, participants took the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan pledge, reaffirming their commitment and responsibility towards building a drug-free society.

District Welfare Officer Mokokchung, I. Mangliyangba, delivered the keynote address, highlighting the objectives of the campaign and the importance of community participation in preventing substance abuse.

The programme concluded with a renewed commitment from participants to support the government’s efforts in creating awareness and promoting a healthier, drug-free environment in the district.
