Mokokchung, February 15 (MTNews): Alempang Baptist Arogo, Alempang Ward Yimden, Alempang Watsü unit and Alempang Youth Association with the aim of achieving ‘Clean Election’ organized a common platform for the candidates of 24 Angetyongpang Assembly Constituency for the 14th Nagaland Legislative Assembly Election at Grace Garden, Alempang Ward on Wednesday.

 

 

The 24 Angetyongpang Assembly Constituency is frayed in a triangular contest with Tongpang Ozüküm contesting from the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party ticket, Moangkaba Ozüküm contesting from the National People’s Party ticket and Er K Wati contesting as an Independent Candidate.

 

During his address, Moangkaba Ozüküm stated that he represents the voice of the people, the youth, and the implementation of transparency in public fund utilization. “My concerned vision is to provide support to the youths preparing to crack competitive examinations, avenues for the youth who are skilled but unemployed and upliftment of women, besides holistic development for the constituency,” he said.

 

During his speech, Er K Wati stated that his main focus will be on connectivity and youth empowerment. On connectivity, he stated that the constituency is still lagging behind in terms of road connectivity, and that improving this sector would be a major boon to the constituency’s economic operations. On youth empowerment, he underscored the importance of multi-skill training options for youths in order to equip them with a sustainable living.

 

Tongpang Ozüküm underlined his intentions and vision for the constituency and stated that if elected for a second term he plans to open a hostel for competitive exam aspirants to receive coaching and mock drill interviews, as well as to initiate seed money to promote entrepreneurs and assist them in the Chief Minister Micro Financial Initiative, establish Angetyongpang Development Board and Welfare Board for equal focus and development, and to implement handicraft and small scale industries for youths, women, and groups.

 

Earlier, Lemasashi, Chairman Alempang Ward gave a brief exhortation on the guidelines to be followed for a fair and free election, while a dedicatory prayer was pronounced by Rev Dr Temsü S, Pastor, Alempang Baptist Church.
