Zunheboto defeats Tseminyu by 4 wickets
Zunheboto claimed a comfortable 4-wicket victory over Tseminyu in a low-scoring thriller at the Sovima Cricket Ground.
Tseminyu, opting to bat first after winning the toss, struggled against a disciplined Zunheboto bowling unit and were bowled out for just 79 runs in 32.2 overs. Sonyelo Kent was the only batter to offer resistance, scoring 27 off 34 balls. Zunheboto’s Yeshika Zhimomi produced a sensational bowling performance, taking 5 wickets for just 16 runs in 9 overs, earning him the Player of the Match award.
In response, Zunheboto reached the target in 19.2 overs, finishing at 83 for 6. Despite a few stumbles in the chase, Abhi Das anchored the innings with a steady 29* off 40 balls. Tseminyu’s Sonyelo Kent impressed with the ball as well, returning figures of 4/25 in 7 overs, but it wasn’t enough to prevent defeat.
Zunheboto’s all-round effort sealed the win and showcased their strong bowling depth, with Zhimomi leading the charge.
Kohima beats Tuensang by 9 wickets
Kohima continued their winning streak in the tournament with a commanding 9-wicket win over Tuensang at the Nagaland Cricket Stadium, Chümoukedima.
Tuensang, after winning the toss and choosing to bat, crumbled under pressure as Kohima’s bowlers ran riot. They were bowled out for a paltry 49 runs in just 14.5 overs. Phololi was the only batter to reach double digits, scoring 19 off 35 balls.
