In the statement issued by NSCN-K (YA), it emphasized that the organization has entered a critical phase of its struggle following the passing of Chairman Khaplang in 2017, which triggered internal disagreements within the NSCN/GPRN.

“Some NSCN members deviated from the main course and openly connived to accept any arrangement under the Nationwide Ceasefire Agreement (NCA) of Myanmar. This ignited a huge disagreement within the NSCN/GPRN leading to the expulsion of some senior members including Mr Angmai himself,” the statement said.

The NSCN-K (YA) asserted that due to Nagas’ unique political condition, the NSCN/GPRN never aligned itself with any of the Ethnic Armed Organizations (EAOs) of Myanmar. This, it said, was because of the huge contrast in their political ideologies.

“The EAOs aimed for greater autonomy and stronger federal Union within Myanmar while NSCN/GPRN fights to reclaim the inherent sovereign birthright of the Nagas from the oppressive occupation of both India and Myanmar,” it said.

The NSCN-K (YA) asked the Nagas to understand that Nagas have entered into the most critical stage of the struggle and, therefore, advised not to take anything for granted.

“We must adapt and move along with the ever changing world politics. We need to observe and study the geo-political changes taking place all around us,” it added.

They stressed that revolution is not about plain words but a harsh reality.

“It’s about truth, determination and true sacrifice. For Nagas, this is our moment to keep going forward and not a time to sit back and enjoy”.

The organization reiterated that the Naga struggle is “not to beg for peace and development, nor it is a win-win or survival game – but for complete freedom”.

Furthermore, the NSCN/GPRN criticized India’s policy, accusing it of continued suppression of the Naga right.

“It is never India’s intention to solve the Naga issue thus the so-called Naga peace process is a failure. This peace talk is simply a political tactic to delay the sovereign demand of the Nagas. None of the past talks and agreements have brought peace and stability among Nagas but more hatred, disunity and division,” it added.

Highlighting India’s success in dividing pro-talk Naga groups, the organization said, India has managed to hoodwink these “surrogate groups” into submission. “Today these groups have fallen down never to rise again and their days are over,” it said.

“Propagandas, back-biting and division are now their only political agendas. The Naga people are the key witness to who is who in the on-going political movement. They will decide who the real nationalists are and who the imposters are,” it added.

NSCN- K (YA) vowed to persist in speaking and fighting for truth, citing it as their strength. Silence, they argued, would betray the sacrifices of past and future generations of Nagas.

Reiterating their unwavering commitment to full sovereignty, NSCN- K (YA) affirmed their readiness to endure hardships, believing that adversity brings them closer to their ultimate goal.

The NSCN- K (YA) reiterated its standing principle of full sovereignty, asserting that they are prepared to face the worst, adding, “The harder our hardship, the nearer we move towards our awaited goal.”

“The NSCN/GPRN will never enter into a Peace-talk with either India or Myanmar unless on the topic of Sovereignty. Sovereignty will be our only solution,” it asserted.
