Kohima, August 27 (MTNews): The Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) has on Saturday stated that the first ever Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Investment Conclave that was recently held from August 22 to 24 in Kohima will usher in a new era for Nagaland and will be a huge impetus in enhancing the economic and developmental growth of the state.

“A conclave of this magnitude could not have been possible had our leaders and the government not had the vision and dreams to ensure for the welfare of the people and the growth of the state. This goes on to show that the UDA governments commitment to serve, develop and uplift the state and its citizens remain steadfast and firm,” NDPP Media & Communication Committee said in a press release.

It also stated that at a time when the State was receiving barely 0.01% of the CSR funding, this conclave has come at the most opportune time for the people of Nagaland.
“Opening new avenues for the investors to enter the State will also contribute towards bringing a big relief to our resource strapped economy that is solely dependent on the service sector. This will also help boost the growth of entrepreneurship along with the other sectors,” it added.

The NDPP also called upon the people of the State to come forward and participate in avenues created through these investments and support the UDA government in leading Nagaland “into a new dimension of investment, entrepreneurship and the corporate world.”

The NDPP also expressed gratitude to the Union Finance Minister NirmalaSitharaman for coming to inaugurate the conclave, “who also happened to be the first Finance Minister to visit Nagaland in 59 long years since Statehood.”
