Kohima, 4 August (MTNews): The ongoing controversy surrounding the Common Technical Services Examination (CTSE) conducted by the National Public Service Commission (NPSC) has escalated as the Graduate Engineers, Architects, and Allied Network (GEAAN) submitted an ultimatum on 3 August demanding a re-examination of the Electrical Engineering (Diploma & Degree) papers. However, according to Combined Technical Association of Nagaland (CTAN), the NPSC has not accepted the ultimatum and has requested an additional 7 days’ time to respond, which will expire on 10 August 2023.

In this regard, the CTAN mentioned that enough time has been given to the Commission for necessary action, yet no positive response has been received to date.

CTAN also said that GEAAN, representing the aggrieved aspirants, has raised serious concerns over the erroneous questions that appeared in the Diploma and Degree level papers of the Electrical Engineering stream. After scrutinizing the answer key provided by the NPSC, GEAAN compiled the data and submitted a formal challenge along with supporting evidence, adhering to the directives set by the commission.

The cumulative data revealed that there were a total of 114 erroneous questions in the Diploma papers (Paper 1&2) and 83 in the Degree papers (Paper 1&2). The CTAN further emphasized how on 4 July 2023, a representation was submitted challenging the answer key and demanding a re-examination of both diploma and degree (Electrical) papers.

Following this, on 14, 18, and 24 July, the executive members of GEAAN and CTAN requested the commission to address the issues, yet no positive response was received from the commission to date.

Therefore, CTAN has demanded a re-examination with a deadline of 10 August. And with the expiry of the date, the aggrieved party will hold an agitation outside the NPSC office starting from 11 August 2023.

In this regard, CTAN appealed to all the aspirants of Agri, Allied, and others to ‘kindly bear’ with the situation in case agitation is initiated, keeping in mind their exams scheduled from 9 to 14 August 2023.
