CTAN (Combined Technical Association of Nagaland) and NNQF (Nagaland NET Qualified Forum) continued their protest for the second consecutive day on Thursday against the Nagaland government’s regularization of 147 Assistant Professors and Librarians in the Higher Education Department.

The two organizations have questioned how individuals appointed on fixed pay against non-sanctioned posts after June 6, 2016, could be regularized without open competition through the Nagaland Public Service Commission (NPSC).

Under the pouring rain, NET and PhD qualified aspirants gathered outside the Directorate of Higher Education in Kohima, holding placards and banners demanding immediate cancellation of what they described as “backdoor appointments.”

With no positive response from the Directorate of Higher Education, CTAN and NNQF have announced that the protest will resume on Monday.
