Kohima, 17 December (MTNews): The Golden Jubilee celebration of Thenyizumi Baptist Church, Christian Youth Endeavour was held at Thenyizu village under Phek district. The church wrapped up its three-day celebration themed “Alive in Christ” on Sunday evening.

The speakers were Rev. Dr. Suluveyi Rhakho, coordinator of Globe Server International in Minneapolis, USA, and Rev. Vemüriyi Vadeo, pastor of Naga Christian Fellowship in Shillong. Their discussions covered topics like living in Christ, unwavering truths in a changing world, challenges and opportunities for modern youth, hope amid uncertainty, presenting Christ in today’s world, and the youth’s mission.

In his speeches, Rev Dr. Suluveyi Rhakho emphasized the need to share the blessings of jubilee, fostering unity, love, and a renewed commitment to Christian journey.

Rhakho stressed the value of cheerful giving and encouraged the youth to share God’s message in their unique ways. He highlighted the essence of true Christianity, stating that spreading love and the Gospel of Christ defines one’s faith, beyond mere membership or attendance.

Noting the abundant opportunities presented by technological advancements, he urged the youth to actively seek employment rather than passively wait for it.

Muthasheyi Chotso, chairman, CABYF sharing greetings expressed hope that the celebration wouldn’t merely bring people together for an event but would also serve as a time for reflection, contemplating God’s faithfulness in both our physical and spiritual journeys. He challenged the youth to remain steadfast in Christ, emphasizing that our salvation is solely found in Him.

The convener, jubilee committee, Selakhoyi Kapuh said the celebration is a significant occasion warranting a grand celebration, allowing for reflection on 50 years of God’s grace, blessings, and the unwavering spirit within our Christian journey. He emphasized the importance of uniting as one family, expressing faith and gratitude for the path guided by the Lord.

During the celebration, a monolith was erected and dedicated by Vekhutso Resu, the first session chairman. Additionally, the Jubilee souvenir was released by Vesakho Thisa, the Director of the Children & Education Department of CBCC.
