Says govt should not succumb to any pressure groups that try to confuse the people

Mokokchung, June 5 (MTNews): The Dimapur Ao Youth Organization (DAYO) on Sunday declared that it stands by the “acclaimed May 19, 2022 Notification issued by the Government of Nagaland, which have removed all check gates within the State and had curbed illegal collection of money.”

DAYO said that it is one of the best public welfare decisions made in recent memory and that the citizens are already reaping the fruits as “prices of most of the essential commodities have been drastically reduced.” DAYO said that it is of the opinion that this historic landmark step taken by the Government of the day in tackling the issue of illegal and multiple taxation will go a long way to make a vibrant economy and a revenue generating State.

“DAYO also urges local entrepreneurs to take this opportune moment to “take control of our economy as we compete in an atmosphere of free trade and enterprise.” DAYO added that it is against any monopoly or syndicate practices that will not allow new and young entrepreneurs to venture into business. In order to make Dimapur safe and secure, DAYO has, in collaboration with the authority, been operating its helpline number 8974851911, with monitoring members to respond to genuine grievances.

DAYO said that the Government of Nagaland should not succumb to any pressure groups or various vested interest groups that try to confuse the people for their ends. “If any genuine modification or changes has to be made in the Notification, appropriate stakeholders especially business and transport associations should be taken into confidence. In fact, all leaders from various tribal apex bodies and various communities of Dimapur should be consulted for any review,” DAYO opined.

“It’s is the bounden duty of every right thinking citizen and genuine civil organizations to extend their support and cooperation for such decisive and bold Notification. DAYO appeals to the general public to stomp our feet and say “enough is enough” to bear the burden of hyperinflation due to illegal collection of taxes,” DAYO said. DAYO said it will not be a silent spectator but “play an active role to see that this historic decision brings the much needed change at this time of transition in our society.”

Further, DAYO reiterated its stand on “One Government, One Tax” as people’s mandate to eradicate unabated taxation. As long as we are under the Constitution of India, we should abide by the GST Act of 2017 that implemented “One Nation, One Tax,” DAYO said in a press release issued by its vice president Imkongsungkum Aier and general secretary Mangyang Jamir.
