Mokokchung, 24 March (MTNews): Deputy Commissioner (DC) & District Election Officer (DEO) Mokokchung, Thsuvisie Phoji has informed all polling personnel and grade IV/MTS requisitioned earlier and the Departmental Nodal Officers and the Sector Officers that, in view of the General elections to the 18th Lok Sabha, 2024, the first phase training is scheduled to be held on 27 March 2024.

Presiding Officers & First Polling Officers (Female) will begin from 9:30 am at Mayangnokcha GHSS followed by Presiding Officers & First Polling Officers (Male) at 12:00 PM at the same venue.

Further, Second and Third Polling Officers, both male and female), will also be held at Mayangnokcha GHSS at 10:00 am while Grade IV/MTS (both male & female) will begin at 12:00 noon at Town Hall, Mokokchung.

All polling personnel and grade IV/MTS have been informed to submit a photocopy of EPIC Card/Service ID Card and two passport size photographs during the training for availing Election Duty Certificate (EDC) and Election Duty ID Card.

Furthermore, all the concerned departmental Nodal Officers have been directed to inform all requisitioned officials and grade-IV staff of their respective departments regarding the aforementioned training schedule.
Strict action shall be initiated against absentees as per Section 134 of the Representation of the People Act, 195, it was informed.
