Zunheboto, 23 February (MTNews): The Zunheboto District Administration, led by Rahul Bhanudas Mali, IAS, disclosed plans to utilize a surplus of Rs 36 lakhs, accrued from the Zunheboto District Golden Jubilee, for purchasing a local ground that was previously embroiled in disputes. This revelation surfaced during the District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) meeting convened today, February 23, at the DC Conference Hall.

The DC also mentioned that the road connecting Zunheboto to Mokokchung has been proposed for a two-lane road. For this purpose, he requested the district administration to organize a meeting on 4 March to discuss the matter with all villages inhabiting along the roadways.

With the upcoming Lok Sabha Election in view, the DC informed all concerned departments to submit the list of employees for the distribution of work assignments.

During his welcome address, the DC informed the assembly about the recently concluded Nagaland Olympic games. He noted that Zunheboto District performed exceptionally well with 9 medals and congratulated both the players and coaching staff. This was followed by a review of the last meeting, which was read out by DPO Zunheboto.

During the discussion hour, the high rental charges of the Multipurpose Hall were addressed and will be further deliberated in the next DPDB meeting. General Secretary Sumi Hoho, Vihuto, also shared his views, requesting DC Zunheboto to ensure that all Heads of Departments attend meetings compulsorily and take necessary action against defaulting officers. He also suggested that Zunheboto District should have an administrative guest house for the convenience of all heads of departments coming from other places.
