The Delhi Ao Students’ Union held its 32nd Freshers’ Day on November 15, 2024, at Nagaland House, Delhi, grounded in the theme “Asen Lipok Tetushiba Nung Wazükdi” (Roots with Reverence). The event accentuated the importance of cultural identity and community values. In his address, the Union President, Yimjungjungshi Sanglir highlighted the need for students to excel not only academically but to also embody social responsibility.


The main speaker, Alemsunep Jamir, shared valuable insights from his days as a student in Delhi, encouraging students to respect the essence of time and understand the will of God for every individual. Chief Guest Tongpang Ozukum, MLA and Advisor to the Government of Nagaland, urged students to be vigilant and determined in their endeavors and encouraged fostering unity in a vast and ever evolving city like Delhi.

The freshers were warmly welcomed after brief introductions in the freshers’ ceremony followed by a speech by Miss Zeinla, a student from Lady Shri Ram College expressing her gratitude and aspirations on behalf of all the freshers. The evening continued with the informal session based on the theme “Kenremso,” celebrating music as a divine gift, with lively performances. The event saw over 500 attendees, marking a successful gathering of students and well-wishers in a vibrant display of culture and unity.
