Artificial Intelligence is no longer a distant concept. It is rapidly reshaping economies, governance, and daily life across the globe. India’s ambitious push, highlighted by the India AI Impact Summit 2026, reflects a strategic vision: to position the country as a global AI hub while ensuring the technology benefits every citizen. Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call to “invite the whole world’s data to India” signals the scale of opportunity, not just for national growth, but also for job creation, innovation, and equitable access to technology.

However, the promise of AI cannot remain confined to metropolitan hubs. States like Nagaland, with a rich pool of human capital and creative potential, cannot afford to wait for benefits to arrive. Democratizing AI requires conscious and proactive engagement. The state government, educational institutions, private enterprises and even NGOs must collaborate to build AI literacy, develop infrastructure, and identify sector-specific applications in agriculture, healthcare, governance, and small-scale entrepreneurship.

At the very least, Nagaland can inspire its younger generation to explore the world of AI. Naga youths are creative, curious, and quick to innovate. By providing exposure, mentorship, and opportunities to experiment with AI, the state can unleash their potential and see tangible results. Time is of the essence. Globally, regions that adapt quickly to AI’s transformative potential are reaping the rewards, while those that delay risk being left behind.

India’s vision of an inclusive AI future requires pairing national ambition with local action. Every state must act decisively, equipping students and citizens with access, knowledge, and agency to make AI a tool for progress and empowerment. The question is whether Nagaland has the appetite to make the move. Further, it must be ensured that the state’s AI landfall should not be limited to Kohima and Dimapur. Opportunities must reach every district, town, and village, so that young minds across Nagaland can explore, experiment, and innovate. By inspiring students and nurturing their creativity, the state can cultivate a generation of tech-savvy leaders who will shape Nagaland’s place in the world’s AI-driven future.
