Deputy Chief Minister of Nagaland, Y Patton has extended appreciation to Nagaland Police led by its DGP Rupin Sharma for their relentless efforts in the “war against drugs.” Saying that Nagaland Police seized drugs worth Rs. 16 crore recently, Patton described it as a major victory in the battle against the menace of narcotics.

This crackdown, Patton said in a post on X, is a continuation of numerous other successful operations where kingpins have been arrested and huge drug hauls have been seized.

“Our police force has sent a clear message that Nagaland will not be a safe haven for drug traffickers and peddlers,” Patton said.

Patton also urged all citizens to stand united with the police force in this war and encouraged them to share any information that could aid the investigations.

“Once again, I salute the dedicated officers who daily put their lives on the line to keep us safe,” he added.

Meanwhile, Nagaland DGP Sharma retweeted Patton’s post and thanked the Deputy CM. “We need to rid the society of these misdirected persons,” he added.

The DGP also said that there are “links” which would require efforts from Punjab Police, Assam Police, the Narcotics Bureau, Manipur Police and “even in Myanmar.”
