Dimapur Government College, Nagaland, successfully completed a two-week online National Workshop on Research Methodology from 7 to 17 April 2026. Organised by the Research & Development Cell, Dimapur Government College, in collaboration with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), DGC, and sponsored by the Indian Council of Social Science Research, North East Regional Centre (ICSSR-NERC), the workshop concluded on 17 April 2026.

The programme witnessed an overwhelming response, with a total of 867 participants, including university and college teachers as well as research scholars from across India and abroad, including Malaysia, Uganda, Mauritius, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh, highlighting its global academic reach and relevance.

The valedictory guest was V. Lovitoly Sema, Ex Officio Director, Higher Education, Nagaland. She congratulated the organisers on the successful completion of the workshop, which saw participation from across the world, and expressed hope that it would create greater awareness about the significance of quality research.

She stated that the workshop was designed to strengthen research capacity in an increasingly knowledge-driven academic environment. With growing emphasis on quality publications, interdisciplinary inquiry, and evidence-based teaching, the need for faculty members to be equipped with rigorous methodological skills was strongly felt.

She also expressed hope that the programme had empowered teachers and scholars to undertake meaningful and sound research, ultimately strengthening the research ecosystem and fulfilling the goals of National Education Policy 2020. She added that research should provide solutions to societal problems.

The workshop was an overwhelming success, featuring eminent academicians from across the country as resource persons for nineteen rigorous technical sessions.

The valedictory session was chaired by A. Moamongla Aier, Associate Professor, Department of Political Science, DGC. Participants shared valuable feedback and observations. Closing remarks were delivered by Dr. H. Atoholi Sema, Assistant Professor, Department of Chemistry, DGC, while the vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. Meripeni Ngully.
