Reaffirm support to NFHRCC, urge State Government to act before working season
Dimapur-based tribal apex bodies have urged the Nagaland Government to immediately issue work orders for the remaining sections of the ongoing Foothills Road project, citing the approaching working season.
The tribal bodies held a consultative meeting with the Nagaland Foothills Road Coordination Committee (NFHRCC) at Kher Mahal, Dimapur, on September 26 to deliberate on the resumption of the second-phase two-lane Foothills Road construction on the remaining portions across the State.
Following the meeting, the bodies resolved to urge the State Government to initiate the issuance of work orders to all remaining Foothills Road sections falling under the respective EE divisions across the State. They said the matter should be taken up on priority as the working season is approaching.
The tribal bodies also reaffirmed their support for the NFHRCC and expressed confidence in its initiatives until the ongoing Foothills Road project is completed.
The meeting further discussed the State Government’s Maga project initiative. The tribal bodies said they would support the initiative appropriately if it is upgraded to National Highway status under the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) as part of the Trans Nagaland Highways (Foothills Road).
The resolutions were issued by the Media and Information Cell of the Dimapur-based Nagaland tribal apex bodies.
