Once again, Kewe Mero, a part-time content creator from Dimapur, has shown the incredible impact of digital platforms and community support by raising Rs. 13,14,059 in just four days for Imlisang, a 3-year-old leukemia patient from Mangmetong under Mokokchung District, currently residing in Borlengri, Dimapur.
Facing financial hardship, Imlisang’s family reached out to Mero for support. Moved by their situation, Mero launched launched a donation drive from the evening of May 2 to the evening of May 6, 2025, using his YouTube and Instagram platforms. His heartfelt appeal quickly gained traction, and the public responded with overwhelming generosity. This might be the highest amount raised locally within such a short period for a medical cause.
This isn’t Mero’s first successful initiative. In 2024, he raised Rs. 4,30,447 for a lupus patient, again using social media to bring critical support to someone in need.
“I am deeply moved by the generosity of the people who came forward to help,” Mero shared. “Your contributions will make a significant difference in Imlisang’s life. Thank you for keeping Imlisang in your prayers.”
Mero, a sociologist with academic credentials from St. Joseph’s College Jakhama, Savitribai Phule Pune University, and Bosco College of Teacher’s Education, has been involved in various social causes in the past. His efforts in this recent campaign reflect his ongoing commitment to using his platform for meaningful impact.
