Mokokchung, 4 September (MTNews): A District Level Science Fair and Seminar was held on 2 September at Mayangnokcha Government Higher Secondary School, Mokokchung. The seminar was held on the topic “Millets – A Super Food or a Diet Fad” and the topic for the Science Exhibition was “Science & Technology.”
This was informed by Sentinenla, District Education Officer, Mokokchung in a report submitted to the Principal Director of School Education, Nagaland, Kohima.
In the Science Seminar, Sademmongla R Jamir of Straightway Higher Secondary School was adjudged the winner while Aosunep Aier of Mayangnokcha Govt. Higher Secondary School and Aochila Longchar of Jubilee Memorial School were adjudged second and third place winners.
In the Science Exhibition individual category, Temsurenla of GHS Dilong and lmnainla S lmchen of GHS Mangmetong were adjudged first and second place winners.
In the Science Exhibition group category, Liben T Ozukum and Sungtiben of Queen Mary Higher Secondary School were adjudged the winners, while Jonnoi T and Walunir K Tzudir of Mayangnokcha Government Higher Secondary School were declared the runners-up.
Sentibenla Aochen, Asst. Professor, Dept. of Botany; Dr Imliwati Longkumer, Asstt. Professor, Dept. of Chemistry and Rejuba Pongen, Asstt. Professor, Dept of Zoology from Fazl Ali College, Mokokchung were the judges in the Science Fair 2023.
The first position winners in all the categories will represent the District in the State Level Science Fair 2023 which will be held on 12 September 2023 at Government Higher Secondary School, Pfutsero.
