The Department of School Education (DoSE) has issued a notification addressing the numerous queries received regarding issues with the SMILE App, which is being implemented in all government schools and establishments under the Directorate of School Education.
The department acknowledged the concerns and confirmed that they are actively being addressed. “The SMILE App has been updated since the pilot phase in May 2024,” the notification stated, urging all employees to ensure they have the latest version of the app.

To do so, users are instructed to uninstall the old SMILE App and download the latest version from the Google Play Store for Android phones or the Apple App Store for Apple phones.
In case of network issues preventing attendance marking, users are advised to switch to offline mode.
