Consultancy to open permanent centre in Mokokchung
Eagle Crest Training Academy & Consultancy (ECTAAC) is set to open a permanent training centre in Mokokchung, with its office expected to begin operations from October 5 and training programmes scheduled to start from the third week of October.
Speaking about the new centre, ECTAAC said it will offer a three-month Fast-Track Combined Certificate Course covering aviation, hospitality and cruise-line sectors. The course is designed to equip students with industry-relevant skills and prepare them for career opportunities in these fields.
The move comes at a time when finding employment remains a major challenge for young people in Nagaland. The Survey Report on Employment, Unemployment, Skill and Migration in Nagaland, 2025 recorded an unemployment rate of 16.07 percent in the state. It also found that 92 percent of respondents had no technical or vocational training. Among unemployed respondents, 78 percent had no previous work experience, while 55 percent had been unemployed for more than three years.
According to ECTAAC, the figures highlight the need to look beyond formal education and focus on the skills and experience required in the workplace.
The academy said its training and placement approach combines industry-focused training with career guidance, interview preparation and access to employment opportunities. It works with industry employers and recruitment partners including The Ritz-Carlton, JW Marriott, Hyatt Hotels, Taj Group of Hotels, Four Seasons, The Oberoi, IndiGo and Air India, among others, to facilitate interviews, recruitment drives and placement opportunities for eligible and trained candidates.
ECTAAC said its approach is not limited to training students and issuing certificates. Students are also prepared for interviews and introduced to employment opportunities for which they are eligible.
The academy said employability involves more than technical knowledge. Communication, workplace etiquette, customer service, teamwork, time management, adaptability and the ability to work in a professional environment are also important when entering the job market.
ECTAAC has been involved in training and placement activities since 2018 and says it has facilitated employment opportunities for thousands of candidates across aviation, hospitality and related sectors.
The establishment of a permanent centre in Mokokchung, according to the academy, is aimed at making such training more accessible to young people in the district and neighbouring areas.
For many young people in Nagaland, government employment continues to be a preferred career option. However, the employment market has expanded, with the private sector and service industries offering opportunities in areas ranging from hospitality and aviation to tourism, healthcare, technology and retail.
ECTAAC also pointed to the importance of young people being willing to explore opportunities outside Nagaland. Working in another state, it said, can provide not only an income but also work experience, exposure to different workplaces and the opportunity to develop skills and independence.
This is also where parents and families have a role to play. Rather than looking only at whether a job is permanent or whether it is within the state, there is a need to consider what experience and career prospects an opportunity can offer.
For a young person, a first job does not necessarily have to be the final career. It can be a starting point to gain experience, build confidence and develop professional skills.
ECTAAC’s new centre in Mokokchung is intended to provide young people with another avenue to explore careers beyond traditional choices, while giving them access to training and placement-oriented support closer to home.
For young people who have completed school, college or graduation and are still considering their next step, the academy’s message is simple: acquire skills, explore opportunities and be willing to begin.
