Mokokchung, January 23 (MTNews): Following an emergency meeting on January 22, the Eastern Nagaland Legislator’s Union (ENLU) house has resolved to participate in the upcoming general election 2023 “since the election has been notified by the ECI on 18th January 2023”. This decision comes in response to the ENPO resolution to abstain from the 14th Nagaland Legislative Assembly election.

Meanwhile, one of the intending candidates for the Eastern Nagaland constituencies told Mokokchung Times that, because the decision of the Eastern Nagaland Legislator’s Union is so important in the decision-making process, he will also participate, contest, and rally in the election, as ENLU has already decided to do.

When asked if he believes that if the intending candidates from the Eastern Nagaland constituencies decide to run, it will ultimately mean that the people of Eastern Nagaland will partake in the election, he said that there is a good probability that they will.

Therefore, the president along with one member each from 7 tribal bodies and frontal organizations have been informed to attend the meeting without fail. It was informed that the meeting and timing will be intimated through telephone.
