Mokokchung, 15 March (MTNews): The Election Commission of India (ECI) has announced that it will announce the schedule for the highly anticipated Lok Sabha polls on Saturday. In a notification released today, the Election Commission stated that a press conference will be conducted at 3 pm tomorrow to officially announce the schedule for the upcoming General Elections, along with some state assemblies.

With the current term of the Lok Sabha set to conclude on 16 June, the formation of a new House is imperative before this deadline. The announcement of the schedule will mark the beginning of the countdown to one of the most crucial democratic exercises in the country.

It is worth noting that the Model Code of Conduct will be enforced as soon as the dates are made public.

The four states expected to vote in April/May are Arunachal Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, and Sikkim, with Maharashtra, Haryana, and Jharkhand scheduled to vote later this year.
