Mokokchung, January 17 (MTNews): A consultative meeting of 8 apex tribal hohos of Nagaland on January 17 held in Kohima adopted a four-point resolution, including the formation of a common apex body for the Nagas of Nagaland “at the earliest.”

 

The 8 tribal hohos also resolved to demand all the Naga Political Groups, both underground and overground, to “come together for an amicable political solution at the earliest.”

 

It was also resolved that any organization claiming to represent and stand for the interests of the Nagas “should be routed and mandated through the tribal apex hohos.”

 

The meeting also appealed to all the churches of Nagaland and beyond to pray for the unification and solution of the protracted Naga political issue on January 22, Sunday.

 

The resolution was jointly signed by the Sessional Chairman, Vezuhu Keyho, president of Chakhesang Public Organization, and Sessional Secretary, Dr Vihuto Asumi, general secretary of Sumi Hoho.

The 8 tribal hohos that attended the meeting were Angami Public Organisation, Ao Senden, Chakhesang People’s Organisation, Lotha Hoho, Pochury Hoho, Rengma Hoho, Sumi Hoho and Nagaland Zeliang People’s Organisation. The meeting was held at the APO Hall, Kohima.
