Elite Cricket Club wins KDCA 2nd Inter-Club T20 Tournament 2024

Elite Cricket Club (ECC) clinched the KDCA 2nd Inter-Club T20 Tournament 2024 title after a decisive 49-run victory over Kohima Hornbills in the grand finale. The tournament, held from November 19 to 22 at Sovima Cricket Ground and Nagaland Cricket Stadium, showcased exceptional cricketing talent and competitive spirit.

Winning the toss, ECC opted to bat first, setting a formidable target of 147/4 in 20 overs. Key contributions came from Imomenba (41 off 37 balls), Zidu (33 off 25 balls), and Viketho (29 off 27 balls). Despite efforts from Kohima Hornbills’ bowlers Anga Vizale and Vithoshe Yeptho, ECC’s balanced innings proved challenging to contain.

Kohima Hornbills struggled in their chase, folding for 98 runs in 18.2 overs. While Vithoshe remained unbeaten on 27, and Kepesielie added 18, the team faltered under ECC’s disciplined bowling attack. Sepichem led with 3 wickets, while Kelhousielie secured 2, sealing the Hornbills’ fate.

The tournament saw four participating teams — Elite Cricket Club Kohima, Missionshire Cricket Club, Dapfhütsumia Cricket Club, and Kohima Hornbills — compete in a round-robin format before culminating in a thrilling final with a total of seven matches played over four days.
