Er K Wati kicks off 7th Sangpangsanger Zünga Football Trophy

Chakpa, December 19 (MTNews): The 7th Sangpangsanger Zünga Football Trophy was kicked off by Er K Wati, Joint Director, Employment, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship as the honoured guest at Chakpa village football ground today.

Delivering his speech, Er Wati exhorted the players and the gathered youths about the importance of cultivating the essence of humility in a person’s life, especially youths who have embarked their path in the field of entertainment and sports. He also stated that inculcating a habit of maintaining a healthy and a disciplined lifestyle during their youth will go a long way in their chosen career.

While terming Nagaland as the ’employment capital of India’ for people from other states, he said that there may be between three to four lakhs migrant workers from other states in Nagaland.

“Every non-locals living in Nagaland are employed somehow in one trade or the other while our young educated Nagas are waiting for readymade job opportunities in the form of Government jobs. There shouldn’t be unemployment problem in our state if all the so called unemployed Naga youths were not procrastinators as they cannot be employed in any field because of their laziness,” the Joint director added.

He also encouraged the participating players to take football as a serious profession and not only as a hobby. He also hoped that their participation in this edition of the tournament will be a stepping stone for showcasing and elevating their talent towards higher and bigger platforms.

Earlier, the program was chaired by Toshila, Associate Pastor (W), CBC. Tiatemsu, Convenor, Trophy Planning Committee gave the welcome address. Short speeches were also delivered by Imkonglemba, Chakpa village council chairman and I. Lanutoshi Longkumer, President, Chakpa Senso Telongjem, Mokokchung.
