Mokokchung, 29 April (MTNews): On account of his promotion and transfer as Principal to Peren Government College, a farewell program for Dr Phyobenthung, Head of Political Science Department was organized by Fazl Ali College (FAC), Mokokchung, which was held at the college Conference Hall on 29 April.
Dr I Wati Imchen, Principal of Fazl Ali College, delivered a brief address in which he commended Dr Phyobenthung as a true academician and congratulated him on his successful promotion.
He emphasized his contributions to the college, particularly during the early stages of the FAC journal, when he assisted in the publication of its editions, and his leadership in the seminar committee, which oversaw the successful conduct of multiple seminars.
In his farewell speech, Dr Phyobenthung, Principal of Peren Government College designate, congratulated Fazl Ali College, its staff, and students for the enormous blessing and the gift of love and friendship that has been developed and shared. He spoke about the state of Peren Government College and his vision for the Principal’s office, and he asked for guidance and blessings in his new quest to bring about changes in the college as well as the higher education department.
Dr Imliwati, Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry and President of the Fazl Ali College Teachers’ Association (FACTA), also spoke at the event, highlighting the outgoing professor’s service to the teachers’ association as convenor and member of various committees.
While speaking on behalf of the Department of Political Science, Dr E Benrithung Patton hailed Dr Phyobenthung as one of the state colleges’ youngest principals, and expressed gratitude for the mentoring and guidance shown to colleagues and students alike for more than 16 years at Fazl Ali College.
Talisenep, FACSU’s Assistant General Secretary, also spoke on behalf of the students.
The Fazl Ali College Principal and Vice Principal, as well as teaching and non-teaching staff and FACSU members, attended the program.
