Agriculture Technology Management Agency (ATMA) Mokokchung, Mangkolemba Block, inaugurated a Farm School on Litchi Plantation and conducted a training on Good Agriculture Practices of Litchi at Waromung village on 26th April, 2022.

During the program, Rongsenrenla Longkumer, ATM, Mangkolemba Block, gave a short speech on the concept, functioning and operationalization of Farm School and role of Farm School Teacher. Purtola Aier, a progressive farmer, was selected as Farm School Teacher.
For the technical session, resource person, Alemnungla Longkumer, ATM, Mangkolemba Block, trained the farmers on Good Agriculture Practices of Litchi plantation. She also encouraged the farmers to go for biofertilizers and biocontrol agents for sustainable agriculture development. Hands-on demonstration on air layering propagation method was also shown to the farmers. She stated the importance in selection of mother plant and the application of rooting hormone which will give quick successful results. The program ended with interaction and discussion followed by distribution of garden rake and rooting hormone. Altogether 23 Farm School students along with Farm School teacher and ATMA staff attended the program.
