Fazl Ali College, Mokokchung, celebrated its 65th Foundation Day at the college auditorium on 7 September with Thsuvisie Phoji, Deputy Commissioner of Mokokchung, as the guest of honour. Meritorious students for the academic year 2024 were also felicitated during the event.


In his welcome address, Vice-Principal of FAC, LS Vinod Kumar, reflected on the significance of Foundation Day as a time to acknowledge the college’s beginnings and the changes over the years. He emphasized the importance of honoring the pioneers who had the vision to provide quality education and whose dedication paved the way for the college’s success. He highlighted the college’s growth and its aspiration to become a centre of excellence.

Principal I Wati Imchen, in his Foundation Day speech, provided a summary of the college’s achievements over the past year. He noted the academic progress made by students and recognized the various accomplishments of the faculty members. He also spoke about the infrastructural developments and the national and international events hosted by the college.

Guest of honour Thsuvisie Phoji praised the contributions of Fazl Ali College in shaping numerous successful individuals and commended the principal and faculty for their leadership. He congratulated the meritorious students, noting that their recognition reflected their hard work and dedication. Phoji encouraged students to maintain a spirit of competitiveness and to use the award as inspiration to pursue their dreams with vision and commitment.

He assured students that many opportunities await them, regardless of whether they are in the science, arts, or commerce streams, and stressed that each individual can find their place by remaining dedicated to their goals. He concluded his speech by affirming that “FAC has stood the test of time and has produced many distinguished personalities. I strongly believe that we should continue to strive to be a centre of excellence.”

The event was chaired by Imlinungla, Assistant Professor and Head of the Department of Zoology, FAC. The Drama Club and Music Club of the college presented a play and a musical performance, respectively, while Rev Lima Lemdur, Pastor of Union Church, FAC, led the prayer for the college.
