Fazl Ali College, Mokokchung, held its annual Melange Festival from October 8 to 9 under the theme “Renaissance,” featuring competitions in music, art, literature, food craft and other creative fields.
The festival opened with an inaugural session during which Dr. Akumjungla, Assistant Professor in the Department of Philosophy, presented the concept behind the theme. She traced the historical background of the term “Renaissance” and discussed the relevance of rebirth and creativity in the age of artificial intelligence.
Competitions on the first day included solo performance, blackout poetry, hackathon, painting and sketching, food craft, prepared speech and dance. The second day featured flower arrangement, a debate on AI, dress craft, an unplugged musical ensemble and mystery solving.
The programme concluded with the declaration of results and distribution of prizes, with the prize money sponsored by the college’s teaching staff. An informal session titled “Melange Unscripted” followed.
Departments also set up stalls selling food and organising games, while the FAC Fine Arts Club displayed handicrafts and artworks throughout the two-day festival.
