Food Safety Mokokchung Zone in collaboration with FSSAI empanelled agency MS Certification Services Pvt. Ltd., Kolkata carried out various Food Safety & Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) initiatives across Mokokchung, Tuensang and Zunheboto districts from 21 to 29 May 2024.
These initiatives included hygiene rating and high-risk audits of eateries and food manufacturing units, as well as programs like Eat Right School, Eat Right Campus, Eat Right Place of Worship, and Eat Right Vegetable Market.
These initiatives will enable consumers to make informed choices about where they eat and also encourage food businesses to improve and showcase their food hygiene standards.
C Merenlemba Ao, Designated Officer (Food Safety), Mokokchung Zone stated that hygiene rating certificate is valid only for two years and that re-audits of the establishments will be done every two years. He urged the Food Business Operators (FBOs) to continue to maintain the standards and create a unique identity as responsible food business establishments.
