Former two-time MLA from 6 Tening Assembly Constituency, Tarie Zeliang, has resigned from the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) and joined the Congress Party in the presence of Nagaland Pradesh Congress Party (NPCC) President, S Supongmeren Jamir on 23 May 2024.

“Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee warmly welcomes him into the party fold and gratefully acknowledges his timely decision to strengthen the Congress party’s movement to save the Soul of India,” the NPCC said in a press release.
