Mokokchung, March 13 (MTNews): Mokokchung Municipal Council in collaboration with Chief Medical Office Mokokchung conducted a free medical camp and sanitation and hygiene workshop with Dr Francis Rai, MO AYUSH, Kubza AHAHWC as the head doctor and resource person at the MMC conference hall on Monday.
In his speech, Dr Francis Rai said that everyone should become knowledgeable about sanitation and hygiene because it belongs to the public domain.
Dr Rai continued by saying that the duties of medical and sanitation personnel are related because both professions collaborate for the benefit of the public and the prevention of contagious diseases.
He emphasized the value of maintaining good hygiene during the session and the use of PPE kits to avoid illnesses brought on by various types of pollutants, viruses, and bacteria.
He continued by urging the sanitation employees to educate the community about sanitation and hygiene in order to create a better and safer society.
Chumlamo Humtsoe, ADC & Administrator MMC during a brief keynote address stated that MMC Sanitation Workers play a vital role in the upkeep of the town’s cleanliness and hygiene and stressed that their wellbeing in the form of good health care is of utmost priority.
In this regard, he also highlighted the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana, a National Public Health Insurance Fund of the Government of India, and urged the workers present to avail and make use of the benefits presented by the Government.
Earlier, a total of 49 sanitation workers and MMC staff received free medical checkup, blood tests, vaccination for Hepatitis and free medicines during the camp.
The medical team consisted of 12 members headed by Dr Francis Rai, who was also the resource person. During the workshop, a team of two persons each from NVBDCP and IEC Bureau also attended the camp.
