Tesminyu, 14 March (MTNews): The Government High School (GHS) Kandinu held its Annual Sports Meet 2025 from March 11 to 13 at the KSU Ground.
The inaugural function was graced by Hethinon Mesen, President of the Kandi Public Union. Speaking on the occasion, Mesen emphasized that “World star players begin like us, coming from poor backgrounds and rural areas, but through hard work, resilience, and persistence, they achieve their goals.”
He urged students to be disciplined and maintain good health.
The inaugural programme was attended by village leaders, church leaders, the students’ union, youth and club organizations from six villages, and teachers.
The welcome address was delivered by Thongsenlo, Assistant Headmaster, while Akicha Kath invoked God’s blessings. Khriekeyieno Zashumo chaired the programme, and Kelvin Tep proposed the vote of thanks.
The event coincided with the NAS test for Vidya Pravesh, with Dr. Tasongwi Newmei, NCERT Coordinator, as the observer. Martin Kath and Jonilo Bukh assisted as Field Investigators (FI).
The three-day sports meet featured football, volleyball, races, sack race, three-legged race, long jump, high jump, discus throw, javelin throw, and shot put.
Yellow House emerged as the overall champion.
