Mokokchung, 9 October (MTNews): An ‘Exhibition cum Sales Day’ was held at GMS Pogentola, Mokokchung on 9 October 2023 to showcase the handiworks of the students which they had learned during the 10 “Bagless Days.”
“Bagless Day” is an initiative under NEP 2020, offering students from classes 6 to 8 practical exposure to vocational crafts such as carpentry, gardening, needlework, and other vocational skills.
Over the course of these 10 days, students acquired skills to create various items, including baskets, pen holders, tea coasters, envelopes, knitwear like socks and woolen caps, woodwork like chopping blocks for meat and wooden spoons, liquid dish wash, and detergents, etc.
All these products made by the students with the help of the teachers were put on display and sold to parents, guardians, and members of the community who came in to witness and support the work of the students.
The event commenced with a warm welcome by Mrs. Moachila, Head Teacher, who provided a brief introduction to the “Bagless Day” concept. The proceedings included an invocation and exhortation led by Padma Shri T Senka Ao.
