Mokokchung, 2 May (MTNews): The first edition of the Gnaro Enduro Series 1.0 took place on May 1-2, 2023, in Ungma, and it was an astounding success. The event was organized by The Gear Thrills Cycling Club, which aimed to bring together the best enduro riders from all over the world for a weekend of thrilling competition and community building.
The two-day competition featured multiple stages, including rocky terrain, steep descents, and challenging climbs, which tested the skills and endurance of all participants. The riders had to showcase their technical abilities and physical prowess to overcome the challenges and emerge victorious, the organizers said in an update.
“The event attracted more than 17 participants making it a truly global competition. Among the participants were some of the best enduro riders in the country. The competition was fierce, and the atmosphere was electric,” it said.
The winners of the competition were crowned on the final day, and the top three riders in each category received their medals and prizes. In the open category, Aaronson Oniel Kharpuri from Shillong was crowned the champion while Taitus ch Marak and Shalo Kent won 2nd and 3rd respectively. In the junior category, Vinii Victor bagged the first position while Imtionen Longkumer and Imlisunep Imsong won 2nd and 3rd respectively. Sinlo Kath was adjudged as the most promising rider.
The Organizing Team expressed its gratitude to the local community of Ungma for their hospitality and support during the event. The team also thanked all the event sponsors and partners.
“The Gnaro Enduro Series 1.0 has set a high standard for enduro competitions, and the association is already looking forward to the next edition. With the success of the first edition, the Gnaro Enduro Series is poised to become a prominent event on the enduro calendar,” the organizers said.
