Dimapur, July 20 (MTNews): The Gorkha students’ Union Dimapur (GSUD) paid tribute to Adikabi Bhanubhakta Acharya on his 208th birth anniversary at Gorkha Bhawan, Nepali Basti on July 13.
In continuation of it, the union also organized a cultural cum HSLC & HSSLC felicitation program on account of the 208th Bhanu Jayanti under the theme “Our Cultural Our Identity” at Town Hall, Dimapur on July 17. It was held in Collaboration with North East Zone Cultural Centre (NEZCC) Dimapur, under the Ministry of Culture, GoI.
The program was graced by Kumar Subba, President, Dimapur Gorkha Union; Ganesh Limbu, President, Peren District Gorkha Union; Suraj Chetry, President, All Assam Gorkha Students’ Union, Karbi Anglong District Committee; Anil Karki, Vice-president, Karbi Anglong Nepali Students Union (Borjan), Advisors Dimapur Gorkha Union and delegates from all the units of DGU.
In this event participants from neighbouring state Assam also performed ethnic cultural dances of different castes/tribes of Gorkhas.
The three toppers namely Sonya Karki, top 11 HSLC with 96.67%, Aakrit Bhandari top 10 HSSLC (Science) with 91.20%, and Robin Rawat top 9 HSSLC (Science) with 91.40% under NBSE and well performed students of HSLC/HSSLC were also felicitated.
