The Governor of Nagaland, La Ganesan, felicitated the students of St. Xavier College, Jalukie, who participated in the Cultural Parade during the Republic Day Parade, 2024, at New Delhi. The felicitation ceremony was held at Raj Bhavan, Kohima, during the live screening of the 121st episode of Mann Ki Baat, the monthly radio programme of the Hon’ble Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, on 27th April 2025.
Speaking on the occasion, the Governor congratulated the students and praised their outstanding contributions in representing the State at the national event.
The Governor lauded their talent, creativity, and enthusiasm, stating that their performances not only entertained the audience but also highlighted the rich cultural diversity of the nation.
“It is heartening to see our daughters represent our State on such a grand platform. Your participation embodied the spirit of unity, diversity, and inclusivity that our Republic stands for,” the Governor said.
The Governor also reflected on the impactful messages shared by the Prime Minister during the Mann Ki Baat episode, emphasizing the values of service, compassion, and community building. The Governor encouraged everyone to internalize these values and contribute actively towards the nation’s progress.
Recalling the legacy of pioneering women leaders like Sarojini Naidu, Rajkumari Amrit Kaur, and Hansa Mehta, the Governor urged the young students to draw inspiration from their lives and continue to strive for excellence in all fields.
Acknowledging the support of the college administration, the Governor thanked the Principal and faculty of St Xavier College for encouraging the students to participate in the prestigious Republic Day celebrations. The Governor also called upon educational institutions to adopt a holistic approach to education by nurturing not only academic excellence but also creativity, passion, and overall student well-being.
The Governor concluded by congratulating the college and the students once again, urging them to continue promoting India’s rich cultural heritage and upholding the spirit of unity in diversity.
A special number was presented by students of St Xavier College, and a short speech was delivered by Gaikulung Andrew, IQAC Coordinator.
