The Governor of Nagaland, La Ganesan, inaugurated the Dr Keshav Baliram Hedgewar Central Library at International University, Dimapur (formerly, The Global Open University, Nagaland), on 31st March 2025. The inauguration coincided with the eve of the 136th birth anniversary of Dr Keshav Baliram Hedgewar.

In his address, Governor Ganesan underscored the pivotal role of libraries in nurturing intellectual curiosity and continuous learning. He hailed the Central Library as a testament to Dr Hedgewar’s enduring legacy, emphasizing its potential to inspire students and scholars to explore disciplines ranging from history to science, while upholding the values of Indian civilization.
Quoting Swami Vivekananda, he reaffirmed that education unfolds the inherent perfection within individuals, with libraries serving as catalysts in this transformative journey.
Governor Ganesan also stressed the integration of digital tools and online resources within the Central Library, aligning it with contemporary educational needs. He urged students not only to pursue academic excellence but also to cultivate broader perspectives on nation-building and innovation.
Acknowledging International University’s commitment, Governor Ganesan praised its Founder and Promoter, Dr Priyaranjan Trivedi, for his scholarly contributions and leadership. He commended the collective efforts of faculty, students, and administration in realizing the vision of the Central Library, foreseeing it as a beacon of knowledge and unity.
“As we dedicate this library to Dr Keshav Baliram Hedgewar,” Governor Ganesan remarked, “may it illuminate paths of knowledge, strengthen national unity, and foster intellectual brilliance for generations to come.” The inauguration marked a significant milestone for Nagaland’s academic community, promising to be a pivotal resource hub for interdisciplinary research and scholarly pursuit.
The event also featured addresses by Pro Chancellor Dr. Utkarsh Sharma, Founder Chancellor Dr Priyaranjan Trivedi, Chancellor Dr Shyam Narayan Pandey, and Vice Chancellor Dr Subhram Rajkhowa, with a vote of thanks delivered by the Registrar of International University.
