The Brahma Kumaris’ Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan awareness campaign was launched at Raj Bhavan, Kohima, on 25 November 2024. The Governor emphasized the campaign’s importance in addressing the growing issue of drug and substance abuse, stating that it is essential for Nagaland to actively contribute to this nationwide effort for a drug-free India.

Launched in August 2020, the campaign aims to raise awareness, educate the public, and provide support for addiction recovery. The Governor highlighted that drug abuse not only affects individuals but also damages communities, particularly impacting youth, who are most vulnerable. The goal is to prevent drug use through education and community engagement.

Acknowledging the Brahma Kumaris for their role in promoting values like purity and self-empowerment, the Governor called for collaboration between government, civil society, and the public to make the campaign successful. He concluded by urging collective efforts to ensure a drug-free future for Nagaland’s youth.
