Nagaland Minister for Health and Family Welfare, P. Paiwang Konyak, conducted a review meeting during his official tour to Hezukhu Memorial District Hospital, Zunheboto, on Tuesday.
The programme was chaired by Dr. Khesikha Yepthomi, Deputy Director of the Department of Health and Family Welfare, while the welcome address was delivered by Dr. S. Kuotsutho, Medical Superintendent of the hospital.
During the meeting, Minister Konyak outlined the objective of his visit, stating that the tour was “aimed at serving public interest” and aligned with the Prime Minister’s vision of Viksit Bharat 2047. He said the purpose of the tour was to assess manpower status and ensure the proper utilization of health funds in the district.
Konyak highlighted various health schemes initiated under the leadership of the Chief Minister, citing the Chief Minister’s Health Insurance Scheme (CMHIS) as a notable example. He encouraged members of the public and civil society organizations to “be aware of these schemes and avail their benefits.”
The Minister also reviewed ongoing projects in the district, including quarters for medical staff, the IPHL Lab, and announced several upcoming initiatives such as an Urban Primary Health Centre (PHC), a new Chief Medical Officer (CMO) office, a 30-bedded AYUSH Hospital, a Community Health Centre (CHC) at Pughoboto, PHC at Satoi, MO quarters at Hoshephu, and a Nursing School.
Appealing for cooperation, he sought support from the public and civil society groups to ensure timely completion of these projects.
Advisor for Food and Civil Supplies, KT Sukhalu (IAS Retd), assured that he would facilitate necessary fund allocation for the expansion of the equipment room, which is being supported under the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Scheme.
